If you are like hundreds of others (no, thousands… NO, MILLIONS), you browse the internet. The “browser” is the program you use to do your browsing. So, the question is… what browsers are out there?
Common ones (as of 2010)…
- AOL
- MSN
- Internet Explorer
- Safari (typically for MAC, but also available for Windows)
- Firefox
- Opera
- Chrome (newest arrival by the all-almighty GOOGLE)
So, which do you use. If you’re MAC, you are in a world of your own – no question, stick with Safari (you don’t have any where near the worries that a PC has with scripts, viruses, and spyware – note, this may change as more people switch to MAC)
OK, this leaves the PC users! (yes, a MAC is a PC, but we’re sticking with the slang!) Which do you use? If you’re AOL, I’m probably not going to change your habits…and AOL does a nice job of protecting to a point. BUT, the greatest browser out there to date is…. FIREFOX, because of one simple feature/add-on.
Firefox has a special add-on called “NoScript“. And before you jump for joy, it can be a pain-in-the-butt to use! However, of all the tools out there designed to protect your computer…there is no better than NoScript!
